Shruti is a very talented singer and song composer. She admits that she prefers singing to acting. She sang in her father’s film ‘Thevar Magan’ a song composed by Ilaiyaraaja at the age of six, she even traveled to the US to learn music at the Musicians Institute in California.
To date, she has composed songs for films like ‘Eanaduand,’ ‘Unnaipol Oruvan’ she sang in the film Hissa featuring Dave Kushner; actually, she helped in writing the lyrics and featured her voice in the movie ‘Aagadu.’ She is currently a female vocalist of a rock band called The Extramentals.
